NO REPRO FEE. The national child protection and welfare social work conference has taken place on a biennial basis at University College Cork since 2007. The aim of this conference series is to provide a space for practitioners in the area of child protection and welfare to hear about and debate new developments in the areas of research, policy and practice, and to network with colleagues. Cherishing All the Children of the Nation Equally'? 100 Years and Beyond. Is the focus of this years Conference and will explore the extent to which the Irish State has lived up to the 1916 proclamation with regards to children. Among the speakers were: Professor Diarmaid Ferriter, Professor of Modern Irish History, University College Dublin, Professor Kirsten Sandberg, Chairperson of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child and Professor Department of Public and International Law, Oslo, Norway., Professor Gillian Ruch, Professor of Social Work, University of Sussex, England, Fred McBride, Chief Operations Officer, Tusla, Child and Family Agency and Donal OíMalley, Chairperson, Irish Association of Social Workers.
